Statue of Unity – The world’s tallest statue, Sadhu Bet Narmada
The world is talking about it and so it was but very obvious that we visit the wonder and bring first hand information for one and all. We drove for an hour and a half from Vadodara to reach the entrance to the majestic statue. Shuttle buses take the visitors to the statue and there is no time limit to explore and experience the statue and the surroundings. The Govt also has appointed guides to explain everything about the place and show you around. Walk or take the travellator right upto the base of the statue. Enter through the museum which is at the base and take an elevator ride up to the observation deck inside the statue. The museum houses the prototype of the statue and also has a theatre that shows life and history of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Spend some time (time is allotted for this section and mentioned on your ticket) here, admire the breathtaking view of the Narmada and take the elevator back down. A closer look at the feet of the statue from the base and escalators and travellators will take you to the food court and the sound and light show viewing gallery. Spend as much time as you want and click as many pictures as you desire. Take the shuttle service back. The return journey is through the scenic Valley of flowers, Sardar Sarovar Dam and the Tent City. This is one wonder that definitely needs to be seen by one and all. Tickets can be booked online.
