A day excursion from Jaisalmer will take you to the nation’s pride of Longewala war site. Besides a well curated war museum with captured Pakistani tanks, there also is a short documentary playing at the amphitheatre which gives a brief about the Indo-Pak war of 1971. After Longewala, visit the Tanot Mata temple where you can see the unexplored bombs that were dropped in the premises but never exploded. With prior permission all Indians can then visit the international border between India and Pakistan at Bawliyan. A highly recommended excursion for the young and old alike.
